Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company
started in 1970 as an extension of the Western Galilee Regional Dance Group. Its founder Yehudit Arnon turned the company into one of Israel's leading contemporary dance groups and handed it over to Rami Be'er in 1996. During these years the group has visited France, England, Japan, Italy, Germany, Scotland, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Denmark, Mexico, etc.
"Aide Memoire", choreography by the Israeli Rami Be'er, Artistic director of the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, deals with the tragic consequences of the Holocaust. This, through the consciousness and lives of those directly affected the victims, as well as the following generations: "As someone who belongs to a family of Holocaust survivors, I chose to deal with a subject that has occupied my mind for many years; the influence of the memory of the Holocaust on our lives. "Aide Memoire" is not about Holocaust nor does it describe the Holocaust. It deals with matters relating to present life and reality through emotional and cognitive associations. Personal and collective memories, which are always found deep in our consciousness, serve as a background theme for the choreography."
