Julia Zilberquit pianist (USA)
A native of Moscow, Julia Zilberquit was born in a family of musicians and started playing piano at the age of four. She graduated from Moscow Gnesins School of Music and immigrated with her family to the USA in 1989. She completed her Bachelor and Master degrees at the Julliard School, Bella Davidovich's class. Her Carnegie Hall debut took place in 1997 performing with the orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi".
She has earned accolades around the world for her virtuoso artistry and compelling musical personality. Since capturing
I prize at the III Vienna International Music Competition in 1994, she toured with concerts extensively appearing with orchestras and in recital throughout the USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Germany, Russia, Israel, etc. She was a guest artist at international music festival in Seattle, Vienna, Colmar (France), St-Petersburg, Svyatoslav Rikhter's "December Evenings" in Moscow and Kshishtof Penderetsky's in Krakov. She performed at Vienna Beethoven Festival with the orchestra "Symphonia Varsovia", conducted by Yihudi Menuhin and in a US tour of the Russian State orchestra.
